La misión de hoy será de apoyo cercano a las columnas aliadas que avanzan en territorio enemigo y la defensa de la cabeza de playa.

- Una columna acorazada aliada avanza sobre la base enemiga de AE17. Existen tres posiciones defensivas en su camino (todas marcadas en el mapa), cada una cuenta con dos tanques T34 de fabricación soviética. Hay que destruirlos antes de que nuestros tanques y tropas queden a su alcance. De tener éxito el ataque, se cumplirán los objetivos del desembarco.

- La cabeza de puente aliada en Menzel Tremime debe ser protegida. Tengan en cuenta que los buques que se encuentran en la zona tienen un alcance de radar de 30 kilómetros estén atentos.

- La única base operativa aliada es la de AJ18. Cuenta con 5 Seafires, 7 Hawker Sea Fury y 10 Skyraiders yanquis. Los portaaviones no son necesarios en este sector y fueron retirados.

- Se estima que el enemigo pondrá en el aire lo que le resta de su Fuerza Aérea.

Sea Fury - 70% jugo - Tanques suplementarios.

Salgo desde AJ18 y me reúno con Chape y Tucán para comenzar una PAC. Encontramos un vuelo de Avengers enemigos aproximándose desde el sur rumbo a la cabeza de playa. Los interceptamos y logro derribar a dos, aunque resultando levemente herido. Pongo rumbo a la base y aterrizo sin problemas.

1º Vuelo

AD-4 Skyraider - Bombas 2x500 Lbs. + 12 HVAR + Droptank - Fuel 50%

Lidero Ataque, con Popeye, como mi wingman y resto de toda la escuadra. vamos a tratar de destruír las defensas en AE17.

Como no andamos muy sobrados de aviones que digamos, tomamos una ruta indirecta, que nos aleje de la zona de combate y así llegar desde el norte a las defensas enemigas, eludiendo posibles patrullas enemigas.

Una vez localizadas las defensas, atacamos con bombas, con las que tengo algunos resultados, y luego con HVAR. Último, straffing.

Junto a Popeye, demostramos una uniforme y absoluta ineficacia en destruír los tanques con los más que suficientes HVAR que llevábamos. Abochornados, con Popeye con pérdida de fuel por impacto desde tierra, decidimos volvernos.

En eso diviso contactos, cuatro, en formación defensiva. TBM, sin dudas.

Aviso a Caza, doy su posición, rumbo y velocidad relativa, anunciando mis intenciones de atacar. El Skyraider se porta magníficamente bien, liviano y veloz sin carga ni mucho combustible, por lo que los alcanzo sin problemas, atacando al último avión desde las cinco, que cae en llamas.

Aprovecho la pasada y con los cuatro cañones de 20 mm. peino la formación desde el mismo rumbo, logrando impactos en todos, obligando a que larguen su carga ofensiva para poder maniobrar en defensa.

Lanzo un segundo ataque sobre otro TBM, me tocan en el rudder, evado y con los alerones maniobro, me posiciono y lo remato.

Ya con Caza en el lugar, les dejo los dos restantes, volviendo a Menzel Temime sin más novedad.

Como ya dijimos, nuestra puntería dejaba un poco que desear, así que con Popeye nos dejamos de remilgos y sutilezas, suplantando precisión por contundencia.

Con el mismo esquema de aproximación, llegamos nuevamente sobre las defensas en AE17, y sin vueltas, les suelto las tres bombas sobre una de las posiciones.

Un tremendo hongo de llamas y humo marcan la tumba de un T-34 y un par de AAA.

Retornamos sin novedad.

3º Vuelo

Nos gustó lo expeditivo del método y repetimos la configuración.

Caza nos informa que aparentemente no hay más cazas enemigos en el aire, por lo que esta vez nos vamos con rumbo directo.

Otra vez sobre las defensas, vemos consternados que la columna aliada nos es más que una fila de chatarra. Eso no impide que descarguemos nuevamente, pero esta vez elijo hacerlo en dos pasadas, una infructuosa, la otra con éxito, donde destruyo otro T-34.

Mientras Popeye realiza su ataque, me dedico un poco a la base aérea, desde donde me dispararan posiciones AAA. Straffing y dos AAA, más un avión en tierra se suman al score del día.

Sin novedad, retornamos a la base de origen, donde aterrizamos indemnes.

1º vuelo

SeaFury_MkX/'2 x 90gal tanks'/Jugo 70%

Despego de AJ-18 junto a mi wingman Tucan un elemento de la escuatra de Ataque que queria esperimentar con los aviones de Caza!

Mi SeaFury en el aire mantiene rumbo con el Teneinte formado y nos dirijimos a MenzelTermine, sector al norte de la cabecera de Playa, la cual informaba contactos enemigoa aproximandose.

Sobre el sector localizamos una formacion de 4 P-40 a las que damos caza, yo me cargo 2, luego nos reunimos con mi wingman que se vio forzado a separarse.

Mas al Sur la escuadra de Ataque se aproxima a una formacion de Avenger´s y procedemos a la zona. Nos desplegamos y mientras intentaba enganchar un TBM un poco mas al NO visualizo mas altos 2 contactos que resultaron ser la escolta de los Bomber´s me despliego averiando a uno y derribando al otro.

Luego tocamos en AJ-18.

Desde AJ-18 nuevamente en el aire para la zona caliente en esta oportunidad se nos suma el Capitan Balker.

Desplegados un rato en el sector sin novedad somos deribados al SurEste donde contactosa de Radar se aproximaban con HDG directo a la cabecara de playa.
El objetivo era llegar antes de que el enemigo soltara, bombas.

Por suerte lo logramos en, mi entrada averio uno obligandolo a salir de la formacion, retorno y me posiciono detras de un segundo al que derribo.

La cabecera no sufrio daños.

Decolé de la base capturada en posición numeral 2 de elemento de ataque, con TC Ceteu de líder. Pusimos rumbo al objetivo, tomando altura, precedidos del elemento de caza que despejaba el cielo para nuestra inserción.

Destruí una AAA en mis pasadas de ataque, con mucha dificultad para avistar los T-34, salvo por uno al que le pasé sobre la torreta.

Regresé sin novedad.
